Good to hear from you. In the scenario below, if each organization maintains their 501(c)3 status then they would continue to need an audit. In some ways our audit requirements are dictated by Administrative Rule 30 in the State. This rule sets out eligibility requirements for participating in the State and University combined campaigns and says that in order to eligible any 501(c)3 is required to have a GAAP audit. There are some efforts underway to change that rule, but I don’t know if that will happen. Does that answer your question?
For our volunteers, I think it would depend on how much smaller the program services are and what kind of fiscal review they are going through annually.
